I'm not a big expert of the stock market and the global economy nor do I know much about it but if I had to guess, I would probably say that its not going towards a good direction. When i think of global economy, I think of the social system of production, exchange, distribution and consumption of products and services through out the whole world. While the rich gets richer, the poor gets poorer and thousands and thousands of people are suffering. For instance, there are businesses increasing and becoming more efficient while there are others making ends meet just to survive.
As I think back to how prices were back then, I've realized that living expenses, gas prices, household mortages, and loans are more costly than they've ever been in this lifetime. Prices are rising before our eyes and its making it a struggle for all of us and I can't imagine how it will be in the near future. Will our incomes now be able to support us as well as our families in the future years???Who knows. There are both negative and positive occurences happening to the world today. One example of the positive is that our significantly improved technology today has benefited our lifestyles in a way of making life situations more convenent for us. Businesses have learned to develop partnership and alliances throughout the globe which results in sucess to many businesses all over the world. One example of a negative occurence happening to our global economoy is the great demand on gas and oil and prices are higher than ever. This is making it difficult for transportation on all of us. Like I mentioned earlier, living expenses has risen so high in the past couple years who knows how much more it will rise.
I'm not sure what is going to happening with the American Election. I'm not registered to vote so obviously I don't have much say but I'm hoping that Barack Obama wins all for the right reasons. He seems very intelligent from his background of schools that he has attended as well as his accomplishments. He's had a lot of experience with public services and worked in office to pass bills on health care, education, taxes, and other world issues that needs to be fixed. Almost every position he's taken in office has been a success. He also comes from a hard working family and he had to work for everything he got.
The American election and the global economy are related in ways where all the world issues occuring today will obviously affect us either in a negative or positive way depending on who wins as president. So it's important to choose the president who we as well as our economy will benefit from the most and make this world a better and peaceful place to live in.

Pre-Writing Assignment #2
I think globalization doesn't necessarily threaten the cultural rights and identities of less powerful countries because no one is forced to use technology or any kind of advanced technology available today. Instead it gives millions of people the option to use it. Yet, so many of them refuse to use it because either they don't need it or they simply just live simple lives and can live without any use of technology. Many people that live in the less powerful countries were most likely raised without any use of technology which is probably why it doesn't matter to them if they have it or not. They've been brought up that certain way that it doesnt phase them. But on the other hand for many of us in the United States, we were raised a whole different way where technology and hand held devices were around us every single day that we got adapted to it so quickly. So quickly that it became a part of our lives. Not only did it become a part of our lives but no longer was it a accessory but a necessity to have with us everywhere we go. Technology has advanced so fast over the years that almost all of us rely on it everyday whether its our cell phones, touch phones, computers, laptops, radios, internet, GPS systyem, and the list goes on. Many of us have adapted to it so much that rarely can you find us without them. I'm sure many of us can't go a single minute or even a single day day without them and thats whats kind of scary. If you think back to how people lived their lives thousands and thousands of years ago , technology was barely ever created or let alone used. Everything needed to be physically done. For example, we went from writing essays and turning it in physically to typing essays and sending it through via email. Another example is how our cellphones today is a very big important part of communication. We use our cellphones today to contact important people and even through texting and I can't even imagine how people contacted each other back then without the use of cellphones and they survived. If people who choose to live without technology don't bother trying to use devices or any use of technology, then I think that we should respect their decisions and not force them to do anything they don't want to. Yes, maybe if they learned about the technology use, life would be somewhat easier on their part but if they were raised and grew up living without use of technology back then, then I'm sure they can survive without them NOW and it won't be any problem.
